Clement Bonnet
Clement Bonnet is one of the Principals in Milliman's Asia life consulting business, based in Hong Kong. He was previously a consultant for Milliman in Paris.
Clement plays a prominent role in the development and delivery of consulting services across Asia.
Experience
Clement has a strong technical background, with extensive experience in Europe and Asia in a wide range of insurance areas including mergers and acquisitions, product and distribution strategy, financial modelling, regulatory modelling, business planning and appointed actuary related work.
Before joining Milliman in Hong Kong, Clement played a critical role in the expansion of the Paris office’s R&D activities, working across a wide range of topics, including the development of mortality and economic scenarios generators, and the development of Solvency II-compliant economic capital propositions.
Since moving to Asia, Clement has been managing numerous M&A project teams performing work in Hong Kong, Thailand, Philippines Vietnam, Indonesia, India and China. Clement has also played a lead role in market entry analyses, strategic/operational reviews, competitor benchmarking and distribution related assignments for major insurance groups and banks in the region.
In particular, he has been the co-leader of various multi-country strategic reviews for the regional management of large multinational companies. More recently, he has been working with companies in Hong Kong, Thailand and Vietnam, addressing various strategic issues including product design issues under the new regulatory environments.
His more technical consulting projects in Asia include providing support in pricing more complex products, developing Asset Liability Management (ALM) models, designing strategic asset allocation frameworks, designing risk management frameworks (including risk appetite frameworks). Recently he has been the lead consultant for the design, implementation and assessment of an economic capital framework for a large Asian multinational company in selected countries (including Hong Kong) and has provided support to life insurance companies around IFRS 17.
Clement is a frequent speaker to conferences across Asia.
