The Patient and State Stability Fund: What happens now?

Although a replacement for the Affordable Care Act (ACA) fell short in March, conversations continue about its repeal. The Patient and State Stability Fund (PSSF), a grant program intended to stabilize individual and small group state insurance markets and lower patient costs, was being considered in the new legislation. This paper discusses elements of the PSSF as proposed by the American Health Care Act on March 6, 2017, and outlines considerations for stakeholders.
