Obesity in a commercially insured population: An analysis of NHANES data

Milliman performed an analysis of National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) data to study trends and the prevalence of obesity and associated comorbidities in a commercially insured population.
The study used the NHANES demographic, examination, questionnaire, and laboratory data files to identify all individuals aged 18-64 years and for each subject, their body mass index (BMI) and presence of the following comorbidities: type 2 diabetes (diagnosed and undiagnosed), prediabetes, hypertension, coronary heart disease (CHD), dyslipidemia, sleep disorder, osteoarthritis, asthma, and depression.
