In February 2019, Milliman released the report from its inaugural Accident Insurance Survey. This report represents 42 carriers and $2.4 billion in inforce premium. The survey, which covers both Accident Indemnity (AI) and Accident Medical Expense (AME), explores numerous facets of the accident insurance market, including sales and inforce, buyer profile, product features, underwriting, pricing and profitability, risks, and administrative systems and technology. The report segments data, where appropriate, by group, individual worksite, and individual non-worksite. We then synthesize this data to provide a high-level analysis of key market trends.
