On 26 October 2011, the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) published its final reports on the equivalence assessment of the Bermudan, Japanese and Swiss supervisory systems. These reports end a 10-month assessment and consultation in relation to the supervisory regimes.

This update provides a summary of the content of these reports, setting out the implication of EIOPA’s advice for equivalence of the supervisory regimes in the three territories.
