A “gold standard” for population health? Revisiting the FDA’s relationship with the Hippocratic Oath

Population health programs seek to improve the health outcomes broadly of populations as opposed to focusing on individuals. A population health paradigm can provide faster and better access to innovation- and better guidance for consumers. The Food and Drug Administration should use a population health context to meet 21st century expectations for pharmaceutical risk.
