Jacob Magnusson is a consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2013.
Experience
Jacob has served many types of clients in his time at Milliman. His main area of expertise is Medicare Part D and Medicaid managed care rate setting.
- In the Medicare Part D market, Jacob has assisted MA-PDs and PDPs with strategic planning, feasibility studies, settlement estimation, and Medicare Part D bid preparation. He is also a key developer of several components of Milliman’s Part D modeling suite.
- Jacob has worked with multiple state Medicaid agencies to develop managed care capitation rates and risk adjustment programs. He has also assisted states with developing, monitoring, and preparing associated reporting for waiver programs.
Prior to joining Milliman, Jacob was an assistant instructor in the mathematics department of Indiana University from 2008 to 2012.
