David M. Lang
David Lang directs the Property and Casualty Consulting Practice in the Dallas office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2002.
Experience
David began his career at a regional actuarial consulting firm in 1999, where his responsibilities included reserving, pricing, and funding of various property and casualty lines for both insurance companies and public entities. David also gained experience in company valuation, reserving, pricing, and profit testing for life insurance companies.
David currently assists a variety of self-insured clients with reserve and funding analyses for workers' compensation, general liability, auto, and medical malpractice programs. He also provides actuarial support to state regulators for statutory financial examinations, rate filing reviews, and litigation. In addition, David assists insurance companies and risk-retention groups with reserve and pricing analyses for a variety of personal and commercial lines, including worker's compensation, medical malpractice, title, surety, auto, homeowners, and property coverages.
David has given presentations at professional and industry group meetings, including the Society of Financial Examiners, the Risk and Insurance Management Society, the Southwest Actuarial Forum, the Texas Public Risk Management Association, the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association, the Dig In Conference, the Texas Insurance Academy, and the Milliman Casualty Consultants Forum. He has also authored articles on the insurability of catastrophic events and the effects of COVID-19 on self-insured entities.
