
Jennifer Janvrin
Jen Janvrin is a principal and senior benefits consultant in the Milliman Employee Benefits Consulting Practice. She is an experienced consultant with 20+ years of expertise in employer-based health and welfare consulting. She works closely with clients on the design, management, and implementation of their employee benefit plans. She utilizes her proven leadership and ability to cultivate strong relationships to advise and collaborate with C-suites and HR teams.
Experience
Since joining Milliman in 2005, Jen has been involved in a wide range of projects and clients across a variety of industries and funding arrangements. She is skilled in listening to her clients’ needs and fostering collaboration within her Milliman team and the client’s HR team. Jen consults with employers by analyzing data, outlining options, and evaluating outcomes to develop innovative solutions that align with the company’s objectives and strategy. She works closely with clients and other Milliman consultants in the delivery, management, and enhancement of these services to assist employer groups. In her current position as a senior benefits consultant, Jen specializes in the following:
- Performing strategic consulting for large employers on the management of their budget for employee benefits. Jen leads strategy discussions, provides financial analysis, and is skilled at evaluating and implementing solutions for clients.
- Managing vendors and contracts. Jen evaluates current and proposed vendors that serve her clients by building relationships and assisting in the day-to-day operations. She negotiates contract-specific language to benefit the client during the renewal process and ongoing performance guarantee measurement.
- Managing compliance-related deliverables and timelines. Jen is knowledgeable on current regulations and governing laws as they arise.
- Managing, assessing, and negotiating rate renewals from insurance carriers. Jen develops renewal strategies aligned with client’s goals.
- Consulting on plan design changes provided from Milliman’s proprietary actuarial cost models (i.e., Health Cost Guidelines, Dental Cost Guidelines, and Reinsurance Cost Guidelines).
- Developing and executing underwriting strategies for multi-employer plans. Jen takes a consultative approach to strategy and retention while evaluating and managing risk.
- Coordinating RFPs across Benefit Administration platforms and all lines of health and welfare benefits including Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, Wellness, EAP, and voluntary/ancillary benefits.
