Experience
Andrew consults primarily to life and health insurance companies, and has extensive experience with long-term care insurance. His professional experience includes work on actuarial appraisals for mergers and acquisitions, asset and liability analysis, cash-flow testing, statutory and tax reserve reviews, and economic capital for life and health companies.
Andrew is a user of MG-ALFA® (Milliman's asset and liability system), as well as various other actuarial software packages. His use of the software includes stochastic modeling of both capital market and insurance risks in an enterprise risk management/economic capital setting.
Andrew is a former chairperson of the Society of Actuaries' Investment Section Council and a former chairperson of the Society of Actuaries' Actuary of the Future Section Council. He served as a primary author of the textbooks Stochastic Modeling: Theory and Reality from an Actuarial Perspective and Discount Rates in Financial Reporting: A Practical Guide, both published by the International Actuarial Association. Andrew is a frequent speaker at industry conferences in both North America and Europe.
