Retirement, social security, and health benefit limits for 2016

Most of the employee benefit plan limits for 2016 are unchanged from 2015. The Social Security Administration announced no cost-of-living adjustment for 2016 benefits. The Medicare Hospital Insurance tax rate will remain at 1.45% on all wages. The maximum annual contribution for health savings accounts in 2016 will remain unchanged at $3,350 for an individual with self-only coverage and will increase up to $6,750 for an individual with family coverage.
