In February 2019, Milliman released its second Hospital Indemnity (HI) Survey report. This report represents 32 carriers and $1.3 billion in inforce premium. The surveys explore numerous facets of the HI market, including sales and inforce, buyer profile, product features, underwriting, pricing and profitability, risks, and administrative systems and technology. Additionally, we segment data, where appropriate, by group, individual worksite, and individual non-worksite. We then synthesize this data to provide a high-level analysis of key market trends.
