Milliman Advanced Risk Adjusters (MARA) is a suite of new risk adjusters that provides clients with better guidance on insurance decisions related to underwriting, rate setting, and provider payment arrangements. Each of the three MARA risk adjusters projects individual spending for four health service categories. The MARA models, which use Milliman's Medical Underwriting Guidelines clinical classification system as a foundation, also incorporate Milliman's years of health-plan-related actuarial experience.
