Changing expectations in healthcare

While there is widespread agreement over certain health reform goals—increased access, improved quality, and reduced costs—there is no such agreement when it comes to how we specifically accomplish these goals.

One way to examine the healthcare reform challenge involves clarifying expectations for those involved in healthcare, including providers, payers, and patients. This paper suggests several shifts in expectations that can help the healthcare system coalesce around common goals.
