Charlene Smith
Charlene is an MG-Triton deferred annuity lead developer in the Hartford office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2003.
Experience
Charlene is responsible for design and implementation of shared framework and architecture. The MG-Triton valuation systems are manufactured, distributed, and maintained by Milliman's life insurance practice. The MG-Triton Deferred Annuity Valuation System is an actuarial software tool used to determine GAAP, statutory, and tax reserves for insurance companies. This software performs complex actuarial calculations and reporting, including projective forecasting and backcasting, on large datasets. This system is a client/server, Win32 targeted application with the majority of the code written in Microsoft Visual C++, using the Standard C++ Library, STL, ODBC, MFC, third party class libraries (Stingray), and integrated with MS Excel using macros and VBA.
Prior to joining Milliman, Charlene spent over nine years with Price Waterhouse/ PricewaterhouseCoopers in a capacity similar to her current position at Milliman.
Prior to joining Price Waterhouse in 1994, Charlene worked for Aetna Life and Casualty where she was a programmer for the General Ledger system.
