Cory Gusland is a principal and consulting actuary with the Chicago office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2015.

U.S. healthcare providers have relied on Cory and his two decades of experience to help serve Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid patients to improve both clinical and financial results. Together, they implement sustainable, value-based financing structures that are critical for success in today's healthcare environment. Healthcare provider's trust Cory’s core expertise in guiding them as they transition into risk-bearing entities. He is sought after for complex projects, including the design of value-based payment models, review of payer-provider shared savings contracts, capitation payment analysis, and provider reimbursement benchmarking.
His work also involves health plan feasibility studies and cost and utilization projections to inform strategic decisions. A recognized thought leader at Milliman, Cory actively shapes the industry's understanding of Medicare and Medicaid value-based payment. He contributes to pivotal firm-wide research and has recently led efforts to advance financial benchmark methodologies, helping to accelerate the adoption of value-based models.
Before Milliman, Cory served as an actuary for a top population health management firm, where he led the actuarial team in developing economic forecasts for health systems pursuing value-based strategies.
