Clean up this April with required minimum distributions

One of the most daunting challenges pension plans face is distributing required minimum distributions at a terminated vested participant’s required beginning date (RBD). The RBD is akin to cleaning house for the Internal Revenue Service. The fall is the perfect time to take stock of which participants are required to commence payments by April 1 of the following year.
