The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services changed the benchmark methodology for affordable care organizations (ACOs) entering a renewal Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) agreement period in 2017 and thereafter. The 2017 methodology introduced a regional adjustment.
