In recent years, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has implemented a variety of episode-based payment models. Each has a unique and complex set of risk arrangements for providers. This paper provides a high-level guide on risk adjustment within the broader scope of four CMS episode-based payment models.
