Current Responsibility

Laurie Lingefelt is a Healthcare Consultant with the Hartford, Connecticut office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2017.

Experience

Laurie is an experienced healthcare professional with more than 20 years of leadership experience. She has a broad clinical and operational background in healthcare organization administration and payment reform. With experience in hospital and private practice settings, she has implemented clinical processes and programs to increase patient satisfaction and improve financial outcomes. She has provided support with quality performance programs, quality performance measures, population health, and care management.

Laurie has successfully implemented and managed the following programs: Medicare Access and Reauthorization Act, CMS Merit Based Incentive Payment System, Patient Centered Medical Home, Transitional care management, Population Health, Physician Quality Reporting System, Meaningful Use, and Accountable Care Organizations. She successfully evaluated and implemented new clinical processes, policies, and best practices to achieve optimal patient outcomes in these programs.

Laurie evaluated commercial contracts with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of South Carolina and UnitedHealthcare to identify risks and opportunities. She educated the providers on the risks involved and implemented clinical processes to achieve contractual goals, agreements, and optimal patient outcomes and financial performance.

Prior to joining Milliman, Laurie held a variety of clinical and operational roles in hospital and private practice organizations. She served as the operational manager with a practice that formed its own Accountable Care Organization and served as the quality officer. She also served on the quality and clinical committees and the application submission committee. Laurie has experience submitting recertification applications for Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) through the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). She was instrumental in reviewing clinical/ organizational processes, auditing charts for appropriate documentation, and developing new processes to meet the updated 2014 NCQA regulations and standards for recertification. Laurie has experience working within the NCQA submission platform and all workbooks. Sje also was instrumental in preparing and submitting NCQA/PCMH recertification applications for health care companies.
