Paul is a senior communication consultant in Milliman’s Chicago office.


Paul is a senior client HR, benefit, and communication professional with a proven record of delivering client work and managing diverse teams and client relationships.

During more than 20 years in consulting, Paul has helped organizations with communication needs across healthcare, retirement, total rewards and compensation. This experience includes:

Relevant projects include:

Managed pension change communication strategy and all deliverables for large hospital network to ensure a seamless transition, with deliverables including announcement letters, HR staff training, and personalized statements.

Developed open enrollment webinars for corporate exchange health and benefits implementation to instruct participants on plan options, carrier selections, as well as the new and streamlined enrollment process and support resources.

Communication lead for defined pension benefit projects such as deferred vested cashouts and active plan spinoffs, utilizing surveys, education brochures, election packets and in-person meetings to help participants make critical decisions about timing and forms of payment options for receiving retirement income.

Created and launched online survey to measure influence of total rewards communication along with employee preferences for frequency and method of future compensation and benefits communication.

Responsible for retirement readiness communication campaign for major transportation company, helping employees focus on critical age-based and event-driven milestones along the way to retirement to ensure adequate financial preparation.

Created employee value proposition and brand for new rewards rollout at a “Great Place to Work” client, including a broad-based marketing rollout and accompanying targeted communication such as performance management training materials for managers.

Developed executive workshops to equip them for their annual deferred compensation decisions and establishing income distribution dates as well as awareness of available tax advantaged processes. Introduced a consumer-driven health plan for a hospital network through a series of educational communication tools such as tutorials, workshops, and employee sample profiles to convey the cost implications and the use of the new health savings account.
