Current Responsibility

Robert is a senior benefits consultant with the Seattle office of Milliman. He currently serves as a relationship manager for 10 to 15 defined contribution retirement plans, assisting clients with the design, implementation, and administration of employee retirement plans. He joined the firm in 2004.

Experience

Robert has 15 years of experience in the retirement plan industry. Before joining Milliman, he worked for AST Trust Company (now Wilmington Trust Company of Delaware) as a relationship manager for the firm's largest recordkeeping partners.

Robert works on technically complex defined contribution retirement plans, including plans that offer unitized funds and self-directed brokerage accounts. He is the day-to-day contact and primary administrator for these plans. He is also responsible for overall plan administration and daily operations for his clients' plans, in addition to providing trust and audit assistance, and participant- and plan-level reporting.

Robert mentors other Seattle client managers and provides them with assistance with their clients' annual audits and technical questions from pension auditors.

Robert also works with plan sponsors to help them implement, manage, and smoothly run their non-qualified deferred compensation plans.

Robert continually proves his project management skills and capacity for enhanced responsibility. He is an experienced team leader and a trusted partner for his clients. His background has thoroughly prepared him to provide the data-intensive analysis and proactive support required to serve Milliman clients.

His recent projects include:

  • Consulting with clients on refreshing their plan design to incorporate recent trends, such as automatic enrollment, automatic escalation, and qualified default investment alternatives, as well as new legislative specifications for 403(b) plans.
  • Streamlining administration and service provided to plan participants with self-directed brokerage accounts.
